On Thursday, July 13 2018, Indian Daughter Hima Das making India proud and make India’s head raise in the noble. Hima Das is the first ever Indian athlete winning the Gold medal in World U-20 Athletics Championships.

Indian fast runner Hima Das made history on Thursday. She won the gold medal in the 400 meters final of the IAAF World U-20 Athletics Championship. She is the first Indian athlete to win the gold medal in the track event.
Hima Das, 18, took 51.46 seconds to get top position. Hima Das took the lead in the semi-final on Wednesday, 52.10 seconds. In the first round, he also made the record time of 52.25 seconds.
Das, a resident of Assam, was at the sixth place in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April, taking the time of 51.32 seconds to record the Indian Under-20. Since then, She has constantly been improving his time. She had recently secured the Gold Medal at the Interstate Championships. In this event, She took the time of 51.13 seconds.

Hima Das now joins Elite Club of Star Javelin Thrower, Neeraj Chopra. Chopra won the gold medal with the world record in the previous edition of 2016. Das is the first Indian athlete to win a medal in the track event
Earlier, in the World Junior Championships, India won the medal for Border Poonia (Bronze in Discus Throw in 2002) and Navjeet Kaur Dhillon (discus in Bronze 2014) for India.
